Bass Pro Shops® XPS® Toad & Mouse Kit

Featured Replies

Is this kit any good http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_36580____SearchResults? I'm looking to replace both my mouse that got demolished by a rather large snapping turtle and my frog that got torn to shreds by years of use. I had this frog http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_37014____SearchResults for a long while, but i couldn't get a good hookset all the time with it, and the second one i had just sank, where as the first one floated. So i was going to go with a spro or something similar, and saw this kit. The mouse seems to look almost like the chartreuse mouse i had (mouse and frog both bought at walmart 6 or so years ago) so I don't know. Which is why i come to you guys :-). Are they worth it? just the frogs? just the mice?

its a good value, they fill up with water more then your premium frogs do.. but at the price you cant really beat them as all frogs and mice fill with water.. the hooks need a file on them a few strokes to get them sticky (They are not sharp at all new) and to me they are easier then the Spro frogs to hook up with as they are a little softer and even being so soft they still dont pick up weeds much at all. for 20 bucks buy it they are fish catchers and look pretty good in the water.. just remember sharpen those hooks or it will cost you fish. Enjoy and good luck!

Oh yeah almost forgot to say.. These frogs are VERY hard to walk the frog in open water.. they will but its very hard to get them going and keep it going.. so if you like to walk frogs and will be using these for that you wont be happy... but to twitch and scoot over matts and pads they are not bad at all. I have bought like 4-5 kits of them and never lost one lol.. anytime I see them on sell at the Orlando store I buy a kit or two lol.. If I'm fishing for money I will be fishing one of these the Evergreen Popper and Darter frogs, Deps Basirisky Hard Belly Frog, Spro frog and popper frog, Bobby's Perfect frog, Sumo Frog and my all time fav of this type of lure the MLT Rat'n Rat.

If I'm out fun fishing these are in play a lot of times because I dont care when Pickerel or Bowfin AKA Mud fish tear these up!!! I really hate getting my premium frogs and mice tore up by those toothy Florida pikes lol.. mud fish do a number on them to but no as bad as pickerel do one pickerel and its all over for that frog!!

Anyhow I know that turned in to a long reply and more info then you needed lol but I'm board and cant get in bed because the wife is MAD!!! at me!!!! lol
