Maybe some new jig colors too..I mostly just use 1/2 football jigs ..been stuck on pbj and green pumpkin black and blue..more less wanting to expand a bit..I see a lot if cool jig and trailer combos but I've gotten bad about sticking to the same old thing..btw I fish a lot of clear to light stained water..thx

Zoom super chunk jr or paca chunk, both top of the food chain!

Yeah, I have been using baby rage craws and paca chunks this year with great success. I kinda see no reason to change.

for a smaller profile, try the Rage Tail Menace, I also like the Lake Fork Beaver type bait. One of the best craw imitating trailers is the Yum Crawbug. It doesn't have the action of other trailers, but for pure craw imitations, it is tough to beat. Just the other day I couldn't buy a fish on a jig. I tried all my trailers and switched to a Yum Crawbug, I dipped the tips of the claws in orange Spike-It and it was game on. Ended up saving my day.

Anyone tried the new real deal craw? I think it's made by big bite baits..been looking for them in stores but they don't have them in my local stores yet

havoc pit boss or craw fattys work awesome

I've been throwing the Berkley Havoc Craw on the back of Flipping and Swimming jigs with success  :Victory:

I been using the Mister Twister 4" Split Double Tail Grubs as trailers on my spinnerbaits. The split double tails actually look like it's alive and swimming as it moves thru the water. It appears that the fish can't refuse it. BigBill

Powerteam Lures Craw D'oeuvres are killer solo and as trailers. If you are interested, send me a PM with your address and I will send you some.

mnbassman23 turned me onto the Pure Craws from Bass Assassin. 10 packs and are pretty cheap. They have two colors that match my NS jigs to a T. The claws float and do not fall. They are kinda flat, but work well for a slow presentation. Their flaw is hardly any action on the fall or retrieve.

I still prefer my Rage Craws as they have more action on the fall that any plastic I throw. I just wish I could get 10 packs for 4 bucks lol

Netbait paca chunks, Yum craw papi, Havoc Rocket craw and the Deuce, Zman Turbo Crawz, Flappin Crawz, and Punch Crawz.

big bite yodaddy's are my favorite but, SO cosmic craws are quickly becoming my next go to.

I keep my plastic baits that get torn up.  I trim them back and use them as trailers.  Green pumpkin baby brush hog works great as a trailer.

Pure craw, craw fatty, paca craw/chunk, kiss craw, twin tail grubs, are some of my go to jig trailers along with the chigger craws. The pure craw is great for the price, but like Rockchalk said some of the others give you more flapping action.

How do you rig the trailer on a skirted jig? I have Havoc Pit Boss, Craw Fatty, and Paca Craws...I have a few football skirted jigs.

start at the opposite end of the claws, insert your hook in the center of the bait and thread it down the bait towards the claws. Make sure when your done that the plastic bait lays nice and straight on your jig hook.

You can also t-rig the plastic bait onto your jig hook. I usually do this with swimbaits and hollow craws like paca craws.

Sounds good, thanks for the help.

Do you always used skirted jigs w/ weed guards for rigging your trailers? I have some shakey head screw lock jigs and I am thinking about getting weighted EWG Gamaktsu hooks, your thoughts on those?

Here is a Basstackle 702 craw. It is 3.75" and the best action craw trailer I have used.

It is very popular with small hand injected companies and many make it. I'm sure you could search and find it.

Dont think I'm allowed to link any companies here.

BTW I dont sell baits anymore so please dont ask.

You must never have tried a Rage Craw. The new DB craw looks awesome too. The Menace is a good option on smaller presentations and the Lobster on bigger ones. 99% of the time I hang a Rage Craw on the back. Everyone has their favorites and there probably is no wrong answer here. Good luck!

Those 3 colors with a matching Rage lobster are going to me hard to improve on!

I used them my last time out. I can't say much on the action since I was night fishing and didn't really look at it in the water, but it did catch me a few fish. In my opinion if nothing is wrong with what you are using then there's no reason to change haha.

Rage makes a great craw no doubt. I prefer this one.

The OP was looking for different options

Fat Albert twin tails have been a top producer for years
