Line And Baitcaster Spools

Featured Replies

Has anyone else thought about tying their line in and out of one of the little holes in the spool of their baitcasting reel?

Is this a no-no?

I do this with all my reels that have perforated spools.  I'm sure it isn't necessary unless you're using braid and you're worried about it slipping, but I still do it.

It won't hurt anything, but an Arbor Knot is so easy to tie I don't see the need.

That's the knot I use. And usually I don't tie it through the spool but this stx was just slipping even with 5-6 loops around the spool. So I figured I would try it.

Thank you.
