BPS Z9R Swimbait

Featured Replies

Any experience with these? I picked one up with the left overs from my gift cards.

It seems pretty well made, but I don't know much about swimbaits.

Nice paint job too for a 15 dollar swimbait.

the fins on that thing look like toothbrush bristles. maybe basspro is into the fishes oral care.

Haha I think they might be. I am starting to second guess myself about purchasing it.

Each piece is held together by some sort of cloth and I don't know if that is going to hold up.

I also picked up a Tru Tungsten Tru Life that I have heard good things about.

the tru tungsten are great, as are the sebile magic swimmers. when it comes to swimbaits your probably better off spending a little more to get a better quality, although you can get the magic swimmers for under $10 on ebay.

Or they're copying some proven existing baits.  :-X

I actually spent about the same on the two because the Tru Life was on sale.

I probably wouldn't have bought it if it was full price.  ;D

Atlanta area made?

I'm w/ fishmasterjohn...I had one and it did not swim, it just moved thru the water w/ no motion.  I returned it.

I am only guessing but.... maybe some clear coat got on the cloth joints? Maybe if you work the bait in your hands for a couple minutes you can break it in and then it will swim? I have never even held one but if the joints arent free and loose it wont swim.

Out of the water mine is very flexable. It will "wiggle" just by blowing a little air on it but it won't do anything in the water.

My advice, save up or work a little extra OT and get a Matt Lures Hard Gill, excellent bait.
