Has anyone ever had problems with the curado g series reel? All I can see in other posts is that it is junk compared to the e series and feels cheap but no specific problems. Please let me know. Thx

A lot of folks just went overboard imo.  I own three of them and 2 E series and I find both of them perform just the same.  Sure it may not feel the same solid feel as the E i will agree, but performance isn't hindered.  It is a very good reel.

I used them last year and never had a single problem with them. I really find it funny how US fisherman try to find a reason to say something negative about a reel based on perception without using them. I am mainly talking about people who hold one in their hand once or twice and give the handle a spin or two. If they are too light, people claim they "feel cheap" and must have inferior parts. However, if they are too heavy people act as if they are a "clunker" and you may have to have shoulder surgery after throwing the extra ounce all day. If you actually use a reel, most of the reels made these days are great reels. I have owned Curado D, E, G series', Citica D, G, E series', Chronach 50Mg, E, Core 100, 50, Steez's, Zillion's, All the Revo's and I can tell you of the 100+ reels I have ever owned, I have never had a problem with any of them. Some of them palm better than others, or cast better than others, or feel better on the retrieve than others....but as far a problems, I have had ZERO. In fact I just got my Daiwa Tatulas in yesterday and took one to the pond today. I LOVED the reel. 90mm swept handle with power knobs and smooth as butter. However, that is my opinion and my personal preference. We all tend to like different things and for different reasons. I am just glad that companies are making GREAT products that are very affordable.

Almost all the complaints are from Shimano haters and people who have never even touched one. Funny thing is, alot of the complaints came before the reel was even released. 

The reel works really well, but the tolerances are not to normal Shimano standards. When working on these reels I often have to spend more time than with other Curado's due to this.

 

Materials used are also cheaper looking, giving many the impression of inferior build.

Own 2 and they perform just as reliable as my chronarchs. Some guys just felt some sort of way for down grade of particular component materials. Reels simply work.

I have E's, G's and D's. All great reels. I promise you that the G's cast control does not stay put the way the D's and E's do. Why? no idea. But it slips a bit while chucking and winding. Not a big deal. I wouldnt hesitate to pick one up!

I've used one for going on two years. No problems. Casts light and heavy baits easily. Set the VBS and go fish. It actually has gotten smoother with use. It's a good, workhorse reel.

I have 3 of them. Never had a single problem from any of them. I also have Curado E series, Chronarch E series, and the new ci4 Chronarchs.

For those that are interested, I just received an email from Gander Mountain - they have Curado Gs (quantity limitied) for $89.99........AFTER a whopping $70 mail-in rebate.  GM rebates are reliable and fairly fast, but you have to pay tax on the full $159 price...

 

 

 

 

A new Curado just came out according to a buddy, the bass oriented shops are to have priority on the first shipments.
