OK so my brother in law has a 12ft flat bottom Jon boat small enough where he loads it in BACK of his truck so he bought a fish finder Saturday so my question is where should we mount the transducer reminder he doesn't have a trailer loads in back of truck so where can we put it so we wont tear it off ALSO we float the James river in it rocks in the james thanks people

You can buy a portable transducer mount that clamps on to the transom. You can install it at the lake and remove it during transport.
