I primarily throw shakey heads on spinning gear but wanted to see how many of you throw them on baitcasting gear and to what success. I have not yet tried this technique on baitcasting gear but have heard it works just as well if not better especially around cover.

works good for me with a steady grind across the bottom - need heavier heads

I use 1/4 oz and it feels fine. Haven't caught any yet though

 Mainly depends on hook.  Sieberts new Owner deep throat shakey I have been throwing on baitcast.

If I was using the heavier heads with beefier hooks then I would but most of my shaky head fishing is done with 1/16oz to 3/16oz heads with light wire hooks.

I do both spinning & bait casting.  I generally start with a 3/8 oz weight on bait casting gear.  My current favorite shaky heads are the ones made by Chompers.  I own some of the YUM punkin heads, but haven't had much success with them, not like the Chompers heads.

I have no problems at all fishing shakey heads on baitcasting gear. Its all Ive ever used. I use 1/8 -3/8oz heads and anything from a 4" roboworm to a 10" Powerworm and everything in between. It works really well for me.

I´ve been shakeyheadin´ long time ( before the term "shakeyheadin" ´and special shakeyheads were invented ) ago with either kind of gear.

Thanks for the input guys, based on everyone's opinion I don't see it being a problem on baitcasting gear. Can anyone recommend some shakey heads in bulk for baitcasting gear? Usually when I throw them it's 3/16 oz jig heads and spinning gear.

I throw a shakeyhead all the time on baitcasting gear. I really like the Siebert Outdoors Zenith shakeyhead. I fish In shallow, deep, in brush, anywhere. The 3/16 Is  Is what I use most.

I cast shaky heads I make from the Do-It mold in weights from 1/16 oz. - 1/4 oz. on spinning tackle. I generally throw baits 3/8 oz. and heavier on baitcasting gear.

I throw em all the was down to 1/8 oz on a curado 50e/cumara. Works great!
