Inline Spinners

Featured Replies

What is your guys favorite inline spinners. Mepps, rooster tail, blue fox... And what color do you like. Also what size and what kind of fish do you catch with them

Mepps are my preferred brand. I do a lot of smallmouth fishing and the plain #4 in a silver or gold are my first choices. The squirrel tails are a lot more common, but they don't catch any more fish than the plain ones do, and the plain are at least a buck cheaper. In the "old" days, I used Rooster Tail Vibrics but they were harder to find especially in larger sizes. Smaller spinners will catch tons of fish but I'm not as interested in catching perch, rock bass and smaller bass.

The number 5 Mepps is one of my go to lures when I'm pike fishing.

I like Mepps and Terminators. I have had good luck with the Mepps #3 gold blade. I just got a #4 gold blade and #5 Black Fury to see if I can entice the bigger bass to bite.

I buy most of my stuff online or at a sporting goods shop when I get out. In lines are the forgotten lure that still will catch a boat load of fish.

1. Mepps anglia #3

Silver blade.....Gray tail

Gold. Blade.....Brown tail

White/red blade..Gray tail

Silver blade.....Brown tail

Gold blade.......Gray tail

Use the #4 & #5 to upside when the bite stops.

2. Joe's fly 1/4oz bass size.

Firetiger apache or glo tiger overcast dark conditions.

Blackgnat, white Miller, mellow yellow,

gold blade or silver blades.

3. Wordens rooster tail.

White Dalmatian white fly silver blade.

4. Panther Martin spin fly.

The silver blade with the yellow tail is very successful here.

5. Strike king inline.

Silver blade black fly #3

Most silver blade with a black fly in lines produce fish. The smaller panther Martin's are awesome in rivers.

Panther Martins work well for rainbow trout...black body silver blade

The panther Martin in silver blade with the yellow fly catches everything here. The yellow fly with that red middle streamer has to be it.

Mepps.

Killer in the big 'ole river.
