Went out this morning to a private pond and it was a good day landed about 8 or 9. Used the Live Target Field Mouse for the very first time (any mouse lure for that matter) and let me tell you that thing gets bit! All fish were from 1-2.5 pounds. One that got off felt like he was about 3-4 pounds.

This guy was caught on the BPS senko which he choked. Funny thing is this one and another one were caught using the senko and a weedless finesse hook but when I went to remove the hook saw that the weedless wire was still engaged. Anybody else ever had that happen to them? Like I said the LMB bite has been fire for me but the SMB bite has been pathetic.

6poundbass caught a nice one tonight. He’s religiously out fishing ever night, I think he’s addicted.

I could not stand the cold but you make some compelling arguments for living that far north.

Thanks - While nothing's guaranteed, I feel like if I can make it through the months of -30 temps - fishing in 40 degree stuff is a piece of cake.

Besides the rewards can be memorable.

Perfect weather this morning when I got off work, couldn't help but make a couple cast at the lake across the street. One of my first cast I caught this little fella that was surely about to starve to death. 7 more and 4 misses on a frog (but all followed up and caught with the stick worm) made a pretty eventful half hour.

Had a guide trip this evening. Fish were active and feeding with the cooler temps, wind, and fronts moving through. Several solid 2-3 pound fish and a couple a little bigger. Bladed jig, Ned, slider, T-rig, swinging football head, and one of @Munkin's swim jigs all claimed fish for me or Ray.

Poor skinny, post spawn gal was 20" and only 3.76lbs. Pretty rare to see a big, skinny fish on this lake.

Got a 19" about 3.25 lbs and a 21.5" a little over 4 lbs. Been experimenting with a cheap spring scale, good evening to have it. Surprisingly accurate

Twice this guy missed my buzz bait, so I pitch a senko in there and he smoked it. When I got him to the boat, I discovered why he missed the buzz bait. His face was so mangled, these photos don’t do it justice. My hook is just visible in what’s left of his upper lip. I’m sure he’ll live to fight another day...

Went bank fishing tonight with my friend Mike. The Florida summer pattern was in full swing with fish widely scattered and mostly in deeper areas.  We caught a few, including this healthy 4 1/2 pounder that inhaled my Gambler 13" black ribbon-tail worm. She pulled so hard I thought I was battling a 10 pounder, but in the end I wasn't disappointed when this robust specimen emerged.

Caught 32 this weekend in app. 8 hours of fishing time.Took a friend fri. Night and he caught a couple small fish too.

The biggest was 5.1 ( first fish pic ) Got several 3-3.5 pounders also. Biting really good for the summer. Caught most of the fish on the June bug zoom speed worm . Got 1 on a frog.large.825CC13F-6F04-486F-B87F-B8F69E894348.jpeg.1af80a8d9fc4e72184dcfad0dfe40a85.jpeglarge.036813D3-72FF-4B71-9D56-FA0F2A1985D1.jpeg.5c6b54bea6799dbf5f2543bf1c2dda6b.jpeglarge.B92CB7AD-5020-4C15-ABEF-1E4BA74F7800.jpeg.277cf2645ec39675e636d5171415ba89.jpeglarge.C7816EDA-C70B-43B3-8F95-C297AA193F1E.jpeg.249d547d6c1ed679636e4d2a7eb1bc37.jpeglarge.61B8E461-9B30-451F-9AB6-2D04DFE9F804.jpeg.18d98e7fe2decb2098596e8e9743243b.jpeglarge.188D17AE-88CC-40E9-9E36-83688A19F7AA.jpeg.e7a00bda4ed2f2079c01661083df2d2b.jpeglarge.49260610-A0FD-49BE-9CD1-FDF2DF67BBDF.jpeg.074d3198177a5b732e657329917b07f9.jpeglarge.C7ED9C13-2219-4667-8547-71FABEF20BA2.jpeg.c740e680ccd09c87e2b05f1a8da77836.jpeglarge.B79C073F-30FF-484B-A9CD-B86BE08CAC37.jpeg.b39175c6d686cb15d6bc9e8ee554adf5.jpeg

Roughed up hand vs. just thumb = big bass.

Me and a buddy fished a known big bass lake Fri night hoping to hook a hawg. It was very windy and only slowed some at about 3 am. I almost struck out but managed this spotted bass on my night time spinnerbait. Operating my 10' bass raider at night with 18 mph winds takes some considerable concentration. We did find wind breaks in the back of coves and that helped.

My buddy did boat a 4 1/2 and I was pumped for him.

Good weather and a few extra days off that resulted in extra time on the water this weekend produced good results.
