Best Father's Day Ever

Featured Replies

I had some great Father's Days with my son and daughter, while they were young. But this year was the best. The day started out with my son,his son,my son's mom,and of course me.We spent five hours crabbing, with only one crab, being caught.Later on in the evening,my grandson wanted to go fishing, but he wanted the boat to go fast.lol.In Delaware, all ponds are no wake.So I took him on a tidal river. The tide was going out,I could see stumps sticking up in the main channel,so I ran the boat, about half open. But he was happy. My son threw his zara spook into some laydowns, and started walking it.I felt the boat rock, turned around, and watched him set the hooks on a nice bass.He hands the rod too my eight year old grandson, and the fight was on.Brett had his hands full, but he got her near the boat, and with his dad's help.the bass was boated. She weighed 4lbs.1oz.When Brett settled down,he asked me.Why didn't I strap him into the seat, like they do on saltwater boats.I just broke out laughing.Watching him with his dad, brought back fond memories,of my son and me years ago.
