Glad This Wasn't Me

I wade in the swamps behind the house and have 12ft alligators poke their heads out and look at me... Its scary when you turn your head lamp on and all you see is 2 big ole shiny eyes...

Less than 5 minutes from my house. Pretty crazy, that someone would just let their pet gator go in a public pond once they got tired of it.

Yep, some idiot put the gator in the pond to get rid of it.

Hope the gator is kept alive and moved down south to a safe place where it can live in peace and quiet.

Fortunately, St. Louis habitat cannot support alligators. That's how exotics spread. They find a suitable habitat and the they flourish. Alligators are natives here in South Fl, but now we are dealing with pythons and different species of aggressive lizards!!

They found a 5' long gator in a lake I fish often here in KS back in 2010'. It was in a power plant lake but thankfully had already expired from the cold weather. Always wondered if they'd be able to survive if someone put on into a warm water lake like that even with the cold weather.
