Anyone Recommend A Good Pfd?

Featured Replies

Hi BR Community,

Can anyone recommend a good PFD that doesn't have a maintenance cost to it? (inflatable PFD)

2014 BPS Master Catalog  -  pages 417 thru 421.  Ignore the inflatables.  They all work.   Pick one.  They all work.  Me, I like my inflatable, because it is light enough and out of the way enough that I wear it.

Do you have to check it every now and then to make sure it inflates?

Berkely Cherrywood are good for the money. The Shimano Crucial is my favorite rod that I have.

Sorry.. Berkley Cherrywoods :laugh5: are good for the money.

Hmm, I didn't know cherrywoods float! Lol

If it's a manual inflated one, no. As long as the CO2 cartridge hasn't been punctured, the only thing you need to do is inspect it. The same goes for the automatic cartridge, but the 'bobbin' should be replaced if it shows any sign of moisture absorption or every few seasons as per the owners manual.

You can check the bladder by inflating it by mouth
