I am totally confused on the transducer mounting. This is the first finder I have owned so I'm sorry for the stupid question. I have a 13 foot duranautic co13. It's an oldie but built well. The directions say to mount to transom and have level with water below middle line of unit. I am going to put to my rear mounted trolling motor. I am using the bracket it came with in addition to a large Hose clamp. When installed should it be facing propeller or fin? Also when in the water should it be pointing face down to the bottom of water or out straight?

Thanks for the help. I have searched this and didn't find exact answer so if this is duplicate my mistake.

You want the most hydrodynamic (pointed) end of it facing forward (direction of travel) (away from the prop),

 

The bottom of the transducer should be facing the BOTTOM and parallel with the water's surface.

 

It makes no difference if the transducer is attached to the boat or the trolling motor, it has to be oriented the same way.
