Removable Swivel Seat

Featured Replies

I have a Sea Eagle 8, with the fisherman's dream package.

I'd like to put a swivel seat on it, however the nature of the boat, and the reason it was attractive, is the fact that I can stow it in the trunk of my car, so I need one that's removable (stowable for transport)

Any ideas or recommendations? I'd prefer one that's not very high, preferrably almost flush, or just a couple inches high.

Ideas?

i wish i still had mine that i created for my inflatable boat.  if i may say so, it was perfect for your situation....

i used a milk crate, but has to be the ones that are rectangle, not square.  the rectangle ones give you more stability.

i flipped the crate upside down and attached a 2x6 piece of wood to the crate using zip ties (i'm sure you can come up with another/better method to attach the wood to the crate).  i then used a cheap wal mart folding bass boat seat (padded) and bolted that down to the wood.  the seat flipped down and fits nicely anywhere in your car.

sorry, wish i had a better picture to illustrate, but i found one of the wife sitting on it.  maybe will give you a better idea of what i was saying....

get an office chair like this one...

or better yet find a junk one and clean it up......

then find a shorty cylinder...  all office furniture uses the same spec parts.  you can change out the one you have for another easily...  this one is 8"

Pull the casters off the spider and you will have a nice lightweight and low platform...

Get the one I have on the 285 pro it was designed to come off ............
