Invisi-Braid?

Featured Replies

does anyone know if the invisi-braid from spider wire is any good?

Haven't tried it but sounds like u would not need a Fluro leader

It is not an invisible braid, but is a very well made braid... tightly woven & thin.

do you think it'd be alright on a baitcaster?

It would probably be fine in 50# diameters.  Persoanlly, I'd rather something like Power Pro, Tuf Line Tournament 8, or 832 for that kind of money.

You know what they say about opinions... well, John and I differ.  I throw the Invisi-braid in 20lb on my baitcasters and I prefer it to the 832 and PP which I've tried.

I guess my point is that braid is over engineered - they all work fine, for the most part. That's one of the more expensive brands.

I pretty much agree with you here.  The tightness of weave (pic count) and manner/amount of coating give individual braids their individual character.  My bias is toward a tightly woven braid with a fair amount of stiffness.  I find myself trying new lines each year but so far this has only validated my preference for Ultra-cast (Invisi-braid) on bait casters and original Fireline on spinning reels.  Of course everyone's mileage will vary some...

I'm a long time Power Pro user, but I've been using Tuf-Line products for over a year now, side by side, and they are pretty good.
