Little George

Featured Replies

Just wondering if anybody fishes a spoon attached to a leader below a little george.  If so, does the spoon get tangled up in the treble of the little george when jigging?  Havent got a chance to try it yet due to cold weather but I know of some bridge pilings I always mark bass on when the water is in the low 40's and thought about trying this technique.  I have fished a little george by itself but just noticed the line tie behind the blade and thought about tying a spoon on.  Any other types of lures work well behind a lil george?

I'm not sure that's actually a line tie? I believe it's only function is to hold the spinner on the shaft. I'd think if you were going to try to put anything behind a Little George you might be able to fish a small grub or bucktail?

I agree. KISS (keep it simple stupid). I'm meaning that in a nice way. :) I suspect that a line tied to that wire loop will cause you more trouble than not. Besides, the Little George will do just fine by itself. JMO.

When the stripe hit, you don't need a trailer. Throw, crank, hold on, release, repeat. But using them for the last 10 years, the price has doubled from when I last purchased. And I've called reps about said loop. It is just a loop to keep the blade in position. However, it would be interesting to see it with something behind it. When could you use it other than open water? That's the only time I use them.
