All my rods are shimano, except one kistler which i like, but i need another crankbait rod. I have a 7'6 mh and 7m crucial cranbait rods. I want a 7 mh and probably going to go with another crucail. Havnt really wanted to try anything else due to warrenty reasons. Shimano been good to me. But what are you guys using?

What about dobyns, 70$ replacement sounds fair to me, all reviews ive read seem like they are great. But never seen one or actually talked to someone who has used one

What about Dobyns? As close as I have come to them were in a Bait and Tackle store where I handled some of them and put them back in the rack because they were too whippy for me. I like solid rods, stiffer with plenty of backbone and the 3 different Dobyns I handled in the store were not for me. I grew up with rubbery whippy rods and today I avoid them. But if that is your thing, then go for it.

 

I like the Irod's because they are designed by bass pro's for bass pro's- I have no idea who designs Dobyns- but I liked the Irod's and I like the *** *** rods too. I am so done with rubbery whippy rods! But hey, its a new year and I go back to that same store often and I will check out the new Dobyns and see if they have changed any...

I don't care for Dobyns or Powell rods at all...

I can't recommend the Avid rods enough. Like you, I also like the Crucials though too.

The Avid 70MHM is awesome.

My cranking rod is a Veritas 2.0 7'6MHM, it's good. You don't need all the sensitivity for cranking. For me, that's a rod that will work until money isn't an option haha ($45 wasn't a bad buy either). 

 

I have never used a dobyns cranking rod, but I love their other rods. A friend of mine has one and raves about it, I'm sure he'll be on this thread soon enough.

Dobyns 705CB. I have one but have not got to use it yet. Did lots of research and it seems to be one of the highest regarded cranking rods available. 

Two rods to chech out are the dobyns 764rm and the x series from phenix.
