Lews 2015 Speed Spool Lfs Or 2014 Speed Spool Tournament

Featured Replies

Trying to decide which baitcaster to go with. LEWS 2015 Speed Spool LFS SSG1H  for $80 or 2014 Speed Spool Tournament TS1H for $100. I'm unable to get my hands on either one of these reels so I am trying to make a decision by specs and feedback.

LEWS 2015 Speed Spool LFS SSG1H  for $80

One-piece die-cast aluminum frame

10 double-shielded premium stainless steel bearing system with Zero-Reverse anti-reverse

Drilled, machine forged and anodized aluminum U-style spool

High strength solid brass gearing

Externally-adjustable magnetic brake system (MCS)

Zero-Reverse one-way clutch bearing

Easily removable palming graphite sideplate

Rugged Rulon 10lb star drag system

Anodized aluminum spool tension adjustment

Anodized, bowed, aluminum handle with Lew’s® custom paddle knobs

External lube port

Zirconia line guide

Max Drag 10lbs.

The new Speed Spool® weighs only 6.9 ounces, mostly due to its new frame platform called LFS, which helps reduce the overall weight of the reel but also increases the distance between the zirconia line guide and the drilled, machine forged and anodized aluminum U spool, which gives anglers extreme distance on the cast.

Cabelas is giving $20 cashback.

I'm with sprint. Grab it and run with it at that price. And if they feel anything like my Lew's, don't hesitate.

It's totally about preference of features. Ideally, the lighter reel would have dual braking making it a no brainer for me personally, but it's either / or here. Pick your poison.

I have a Tournament Lite SS, and the ACS system in there, dual braking system is outstanding.  There is a lot of fine tuning you can do with that to achieve exactly what you want.
