Shimano Metanium 13

Featured Replies

OK so I am having a little bit of trouble adjusting the brake pins on my Metanium. It seems they are really stiff and the only way to pop them loose is with pliers or a toothpick. Do any of you guys have this problem or a solution. I actually drew blood trying to get them loose.

Are you sure you don't have to slide them over. I have never experienced a Metanium but on a Curado I you simply slide the brake over til it clicks. No popping out is necessary.  :Idontknow:

Metanium 13 pop up or hinge up. They do not slide over. They are stiff the first time use try to deploy them. You can use a stiff toothpick or wooden dowel if you can't get them to work with a finger tip.

Press inward or outward on the inner raised part of the brake block.

Ya. Its still pretty new and brakes haven't been used much. I guess I will break them in a little using the toothpick which seems to work the best. I just couldn't believe that when I was testing it I could adjust them w/o tools which worried me. Hopefully they loosen up soon.

Don't be too concern they do loosen up after a while.

Had them same difficulty with my Met. Hoping after a few on/off cycles they get easier. Of course since I set two on I haven't had to touch them.
