Hey guys. Just bought a pack of these for this weekend, I'm going for crappie and bluegill in a local pond. I have never gone out strictly for panfish before so I'd like your guys opinions on them and also if you could give me any other recommendations on what to use.

I rarely target bluegill anymore, but I in the past I had a very difficult time with plastics other than 3" stickbaits.  If I were going out today to fish for them, I'd take live worms and real crickets.  Maybe a beetle-spin and tiny maribou jigs.  I don't know why, but plastic bugs, crickets, etc just never worked well for me.  For crappies, I'd use minnows, worms and small jigs.  Good luck.

The line of Gulp! baits in the little jars are killers for bluegills, especially the maggots and worms. 

speaking in terms of artificial, i like the rebel crickhopper and rebel tad fry for panfish. and also recently discovered trout magnets are deadly panfish baits.

 

otherwise, just get some nightcrawlers or crickets. cant go wrong with either on most days...
