Aluminum Mold Design

Featured Replies

so I am abouty 90% ready to cut my first aluminum cnc bait mold.  I just need to add some runners and some cavities to my mold. any tips of knowledge on the placement of cavities and runners in a 2 piece mold?

Best advice I ever got with deciding on layout of molds was talking to the local mold builder. He builds molds for hard plastic things, and high pressure injection, but he still understands where to put runners, and where to not put runners to prevent some baits not filling completely.

i guess i could run a simulation in solidworks or I could import it into Autodesk inventor and run the mold simulator to see where its not getting filled up.  I don't know who or where the local mold builder guy is .
