I Need A New Frog Rod

Featured Replies

OK, Bass Resource, let me hear your suggestions. I've been using a Lightning Rod Shock in 7' and it has served me well. I use 50lb. braid and a Lews reel. I'd like to upgrade at this point and would like to find a rod in the $100 - $125 range.

Fury 735. No need to spend anymore $$ than that.

I'm using a 7' 3" H/F Ethos from Academy. Got it on sale for $59 and it's the best frog rod I've owned. Lots of power but loads well to fire a frog a long ways. It has micro guides which I like to help with cast control so I can hit spots under a dock or overhanging tree. It makes a good pitching rod as well.

I know it's 25 more than your price range but I have the tatula frog rod. It's my favorite set up to use. They're coming out with the tatula hd I think it is or something like that. It's going to be a $99 rod if you plan on getting it for next season that might be an option. Although all I've heard is great things about the fury I'm going to have to get one that try.

I really like my St.Croix Mojo Frog & Slop rod. Tons of power and will launch a frog. If you're looking for one for next year, they've redesigned them using the SCIII blanks instead of SCII so they should be a little lighter and more sensitive.
