Can someone do a breakdown list of Jdm Revos including intended uses and what each reel excels at? I did a quick once over of the reels on Jpangler and Japan lure shop, but with all the different models / spools sharing the same frame I found it even more confusing than the Tatula ordeal.

Can anyone also refer to the different braking systems used? Are there only two? Is one better than the other? I think I may be in the market for a new reel to use for throwing 4 inch paddle tails on 1/4 to 3/8 oz swimbait jig heads. Any suggestions from the Jdm Revo line up?

I know the LTX is finesse oriented and the winch is for deep cranks. I just looked at TW and I think the revo alt may be what you're looking for, but personally I don't think it's worth the money. Just my $.02 on your $259.99.

I don´t think there are many JDM Revo enthusiasts in the room to give you a more detailed breakdown.

What rod are you planning on getting? This is my new favorite fishing technique so I was curious.

The JDM Revo's are pretty much "tweaked" versions of the USDM reels. The LTX is our MGX with a shallower spool and mag breaks so it is definitely a finesse, light lure reel. The Alt I believe is our STX with a better break system. I think the Elite is our Premier that again has been tweaked. I'm no expert and they can be really confusing with the different break systems and spools. I love my MGX's so I'm betting the LTX would be a great finesse reel.

LTZ I think is a further upgraded version of our MGX and the Deez 6 is a mystery to me

A good way to compare is to find a JDM dealer that sells a lot of Revo spools, they will tell you what USDM reel they also fit.

There are quite a few more reels than just the 3 listed on TW. I'll likely just wind up purchasing a new Daiwa Steez SV! Too much of a Daiwa fan boy to stray!! I haven't decided which rid yet either, but it will be custom no doubt.

heh-heh, not hiding, just turned my main interest from reels to rods (specifically, NRXs) so there's less to talk about. as for the revo elite IB9, i like it but don't love it. like all revos, my biggest gripe is it's hard to access the line guide to thread the line through, especially when there's a lot of line on the spool...something that is always super easy with shimanos. the clicking drag is nice and much simpler and elegant than shimano's clicking drag mechanism in the exsence DC. i was disappointed by the color of the reel...i thought it was bright chrome like the shimano calais/antares but it's actually kind of a smoky chrome and always looks like it needs to be cleaned or polished. but, at least it doesn't share the lock-up problems of my revo rocket

Performance is great but they definitely need more refinement. My revo elite 8 is darn near unbacklashable but the thumbar is very hard to engage.
