This is the latest rod I built for a buddy. It is built on a Mudhole SJ843-MHX blank. All of the components are fuji.

I did a tiger between the split handle and a neon cross wrap above the handle. I set this up for jigging walleye and smallmouth.

The MHX blanks are pretty nice, good price too.  The 843 is a tad heavier than I would have liked but still a nice blank

I've also noticed the MHX line seems to be a bit on the heavy side, when compared to the given rating.

I have built 2 843's: 1 on the MB843 and 1 on SJ843, but made both casting rods. I cannot tell the difference between the 2, even though the MB843 is rated MH, but the SJ843 is M (and different lure/line ratings). I'd say they are both a little faster/heavier than a MF SCIV (LTB) blank.
