3d brakes have not been confirmed to the best of my knowledge. Folks on that other cite are swearing it will not have them. I'm not convinced.

  • Here we go again. Knocking a reel before anyone has even laid a finger on it. For starters I think from this one isolated picture this reel looks incredible. People, the consumer are the one's who ble

  • Steez= Ferrari  Steez TWS= Ferrari with a bumper sticker.    I'm sure it will be a winner though.

I love the t wing for vertical drop presentation and I think it serves it's purpose great in that.

Care to share your thoughts on this?  I have always used spinning reels where vertical bait presentation was important.   I would be interested in how the TWS reduces the pendulum swing that you typically see with BC reels.

And this is just strictly my opinion, the shape of the t wing does give the lure a more natural fall, I use a 6'10 mh tatula rod and tat type r for my lighter t rigs and close quarters pitching. Just seems to me that instead of your standard line guide the the line has more room to play. As I said this is just strictly my opinion.

Welcome, it's not the most popular opinion but I feel like it truly helps in that area. Maybe it's a confidence thing I don't know

Well it turns out the new Zillion TW SV is made in Thailand. If this new Steez is as well it's official, I agree, Daiwa has lost it.

The top is the new Zillion SV TWS.

The bottom is the Zillion TWS.

The more I look at this picture the more I am starting to like what is going on.

It's strange that the 'steez' has the t wing exposed a lot more.

It would be strange for them not to have their flagship reel be made in Japan but who knows. We will find out soon enough.

Yeah I don't quite get the ultra exposed wing either. Perhaps it's due to the thumb bar being changed?

It's probably to compensate for the height.

And depending on thumb placement it could be hitting the thumb or lower part of index finger. The line guide on the SV105 sticks out some and at times with my thumb across the top it gets hit, see the same happening here.

I'm sorry but that Zillion SV looks photoshopped to me.

Reminds me of some of the pics you find on facebook where someone wanted to be thin. :P

I'm guessing its to aid casting distance.  The new Conquest has its levelwind stick out farther. The Metaniums is pretty far out but the top plate covers it.

I have 3 Tatula R's that have worked perfectly now for nearly 4 years.

Every pooh poohed the R's as not worth the extra $ and thought the 8:1 ratio was a gimmic 3 years ago.

Daiwa is dedicated to the at wing, that should be obvious and they wouldn't continue with the T wing design if it was negative to thier sales.

Tom

The tatula has only been out a little over 2 years

After reading the title and seeing the first post I can honestly say that gave me a good laugh

Somebody more knowledgable than myself might know more... But isn't there some benefit of having the line guide further from the spool? I thought this was something going on with the Curado I. I don't recall if it was too close or moved farther away.

Well - it looks like it would be easier to clear the ice out of that t-wing than on the Tatula...
