Fedex dropped off my Iwata Eclipse this past Saturday. I had a chance to use it this evening and all I can say is wow. I will never buy any other brand of airbrush.

I'm shooting Createx and AutoAir at the moment. I want to be sure I the airbrush doesn't get any buildup on the inside. What's everyone doing as far as cleaning goes?

As of now I am shooting hot water through it, then backwashing the brush with hot water as well. BTW, I'm trying to improve the threadfin shad pattern I used to paint and will have pictures up hopefully next week once they're finished. 

Pull the needle and wipe it down with an old t-shirt.   Pour some water from the color cup out the back of the brush and it should be good to go.   I only take my brush apart about every 3 months for super cleaning.

I've been using a mix of dish soap and tap water to clean with.   I'm getting away from the windex as it's eating the chrome from the color cup.   I use about 3tps of soap to a half gallon of water and it's working good so far.

I use alcohol wipes to clean my needle and use dish soap in hot water to clean then run hot water through to make sure.

I keep a spray bottle of plain water beside the bench to clean my Iwata between color shots.  Clean out the cup.  Backwash it.  Next color.  At the end of the session, I remove and clean the needle, take off the spray hood and spray dome and clean them with a Qtip dipped in acetone.  Occasionally, I completely disassemble the brush and soak it overnight in water based airbrush cleaning solution.  Don't remove the tiny nozzle unless you are doing an overnight soak or having a problem.  They are expensive and easy to lose or damage.  Don't use any cleaner containing ammonia, which will erode the chrome finish from the airbrush over time.
