Which is your favorite all around jig color and why? Both are seen as versatile colors but I'm curious to see which is more popular or why you prefer it over the other in a specific situation.

Most of the water I fish is stained, but for whatever reason I seem to do a lot better on PBJ over Black & Blue. Maybe my answer would change if I threw Black & Blue more, but as of right now my vote is definitely PBJ.

Although Black & Blue is a solid producer for me ~ It is always playing second fiddle to Green Pumpkin & Brown.

My home waters are all for the most part - very clear.

Of these two I prefer the pbj, which has produced pretty good in the fairly clear waters I fish.

i rarely use a black/blue jig. I stick with Browns, green pumpkin, watermelon hues.

my best producer would be more of a bama craw pattern.

I'm a black and blue guy out of those two but Green Pumpkin is my favorite all around base color. Both of these colors are great but I'm thinking black/blue is a better stained water color and PBJ is better in clear.

Tropicana & Turd.

Black & Blue, it is what you want to throw on the Tidal Potomac River and seems to work well in the 15 - 20 depths where Maryland Reservoir Largemouth spend much of their year.

 

 

I primarily fish a few of the reservoirs in MD and black and blue has never been good for me, I use more green pumpkin type stuff. Actually I just picked up a dozen candy craw snipers from Sieberts that look killer. PBJ would be my choice even though I rarely use it.

Pbj for me, I don't understand the poll though. Same lake on two different days, one pre rain, one post rain and I'll want the pbj and prerain, and black and blue post rain but that'sjust because of visability 

On a heavy punching setup with a trailer, I always consider a black and blue setup. Hi-vis and usually produces well when I'm moving through thick hyacinth and reeds. I like to 'think' that fish can target it right away. In some cases I might favor black jig with a red/oxblood trailer to imitate a craw.

If I'm just fishing a straight jig, I'd probably go for PB&J or green pumpkin.

  Colors I use most often are Black/blue, green pumkin, and junebug (purple) although I can pick just about any color in the box, and the bass will destroy it once you put it in the right spot.  Remember about the no set rules in fishing.  I have seen dark colors work great on clear lakes, and white absolutely catch bass in stained to muddy water, must have been opposite day or something!

I agree. I have seen and done the exact same thing. I pretty much exclusively use black n blue, green pumkin, or some sort of green pumpkin mix. Honestly they all work fairly well but I fall back on black n blue a lot.

Green Pumpkin 

Depends on seasonal period, day or night and what the bass react to. 

For example the bass are on a Shad bite, white/chartruese is a better choice.

Black-blue is the #1 selling jig color around the country and a go to color at night or off color water. Rarely get bit on black-blue wherecI fish during the day light, purple/black/brown works most of the time with brown/green a close second.

Bottom is you get bit on with what you have tied on.

I usually throw black/blue, watermelon, black, and orange/brown depending on the conditions.  If I am fishing a new body of water I usually start off with blue/black.

clearest water = green or PBJ

stained water = PBJ or black/blue

Muddiest water = black/blue

Black/Blue jig with a green pumpkin super chunk works for me...
