looking into a new spinning rod (or two)....anybody have or used the scott martin tcs rod by okuma ?

Yes sir, my favorite combos. I have three combos now. 7' crankbait/jerkbait, 7'6 jig/flipping, and the 6'9 Martin APC. They're awesome. Light and sensitive just keep in mind many of the rods in the line up have moderate actions .  

Glenn and a few members of bass resource have done reviews on the and they've been impressed. 

Also, if you look hard enough you can find them for under $100. I got my jerkbait rod for $93 at redsgear.

i'm looking for moderate - want a 6-9 medium for jerkbaits. i'm also leaning towards a dobyn's savvy, which is more money, but probably much better ? i'll save some money and buy the okuma if i hear people like it.sensitive ? strong ?

I have the 7'3 heavy tcs and like it alot. Its pretty sensetive and not too heavy, balances out pretty well with an old zillion. There is only 1 thing I would change, and that is the grip. It feels a little small to me, but I also have semi large hands. 

I have a "Mat Daddy", it's been an awesome rod for flipping the grass.

I was thinking about getting another Punch rod as I can't seem to keep the micro guides on the Quantum Smoke H/Xf rod I currently use. They keep coming lose for some reason and I'm getting tired of having to keep either replacing them or securing them back on. 

Anyway, I was considering that Okuma but am a little hesitate because of its acton. I know there are a lot of folks who advise useing a more parabolic rod for punching, and I know the reasons why, but I still can't pull the trigger on one. 

My question to you...Have you allways used a punch rod with that action? If not do feel that its slower action IS an advantage.

THE-Vue's.....i'm interested in the 6-9 spinning med + ...can you elaborate on what you mean by weak ? are you talking about the "mat daddy " ?

This is the only punch rod I've ever owned, although it's one of my favorite techniques during the summer. I'm not fishing thick mats for the most part, but I've had great success with that rod and would highly recommended it to anyone fishing thick vegetation.

In fact, after I wrote my review, I bought another Mat Daddy that was a little bit shorter that was a little less stout.  I use that for flipping/pitching smaller baits such as Rage Bugs.

I caught the fish in the picture in some heavy reeds with a Siebert jig tipped with a Rage Craw trailer, using the 7'11' Mat Daddy paired with the Cerros reel spooled with 50lb Kanzen braid. She literally had no chance. The combo handled her with ease. I horsed her out of there and into the boat in a matter of seconds.

I've borrowed his rod a couple times, and it was awesome! I've got one of my own now...

I have the 6'9 and I use it for spinnerbaits/chatterbaits and squarebills. It has quite the parabolic bend so make sure you're ok with that. 

I'm not really into the reel seat, but you can do worse at $100. Black and blue looks nice also.
