has anyone been able to find the shimano metanium hg anywhere lately besides classifieds?  just wondering if ive overlooked any websites. for around $300

You'll pay about 20 more on eBay, but at least you don't have to wait for it to be I stock 

is the new 16 metanium suposed to be a better reel?. 

It sure does look sweet, looks like it's gonna go for $329 at jls.

yea i saw that   just as i was about to buy a 13 from fleabay.  now i gotta think about this a bit more.

I absolutely love my '13 Metanium.  I am putting serious consideration into sell my Chronarch CI4+ to pick up a '16 Metanium.

Like Ellis Juan, I sold the CHRONARCH C14 and bought 2 13 Metaniums. 

But got those 2 when prices a little lower. Can't see the need for a 16. 

  The 13 Metaniums are a "do everything well" reel!  

I did pick up the 15 Aldebaran and it shines with light stuff.

My desire for a Conquest 101 got me.  I actually ordered one last night and sold my beautiful Chronarch CI4+ today.  I still would like to replace my Curado on my spinbait with another Met, but that little Curado always impresses me.

Ellis, you are going to love the Conquest!  I got the 15 Conquest 100HG and am really impressed with it. 

Like you I'm impressed with my little Curado 50E. I think I have it on a Dobyns 742DX and cast a 1/8 oz Bitsy Jig with a Zoom Jr Chunk. Perfect match and such "set it and forget it" reel.
