Baitcaster for under $150

Featured Replies

Looking for two new baitcasters. One in a 5. and one in a 7. speed. I really prefer not to spend more than $150. Mostly going to be used for hard plastics/spinners. What would you recommend for that price point?

You can find Daiwa Tatula 100's which have a $150 MSRP for about $94 on Ebay or Amazon. I bought 3 this offseason but have used 0 to give you any reviews yet. They seem to get good reviews.

Search around online for a Lew's Tournament Pro G. They can be had for around $150.

revo stx is 142 on Amazon and Abu is has a $20 visa rebate going right now. 122 for a stx is pretty good.

I'll second the lews tournament pro, or the curado or citica. If you decide on the curado i or citica i get whichever you can find cheaper, they are nearly identical reels.

Curado I hg

There are a lot of great reels for around that price. I have a Curado I, Tatula type R, and a Tournament Pro G. I would have a hard time choosing one over the other. They are all great. I really don't think you can go wrong with anything around that price range.

Tournament pro g all day.

pro qualifier, orra, tournament pro g. 3 of the best…..if you like round reels ambassadeur 4600c4 one of the best reels of all time. little heavy but will last a lifetime.    I was not paid to say that.

I honestly think those new Tatula CTs are going to be hard to beat.  Waiting for mine to come in and can't wait.  ~129 for the non type R version.

I'd recommend the lews tournament MB.

i use the tournament pro, team lews pro Z, bb1, and the MB.

While all very nice reels, my favorite is the MB. Which also happens to be the least expensive. Retail for $139 and if you look around/wait for sales can find them for close to 100.

One heck of a reel for the price IMO.

I highly suggest giving the Daiwa reels a shot. I recently purchased my first tatula and am now replacing everything i own with them. Any of their reels with the TWS should be great. Right now you can buy the tatula type R on ebay for $120. Good luck finding something you love!
