Painting Blad Baits

Featured Replies

I would love to know who paints blade baits on this forum? I've been told that its a difficult task and would love to know if anyone would be up for a challenge? If you believe you have what it takes, please message me. Thank you!

you might check out tackleunderground if you haven't already.... there's A TON of info over there related to bait making/modifications

Dick Nite, a metal spoon manufacturer, also sells the paints and topcoats used in its retail products.  I use his Fishermun's Lurecoat S81 to topcoat metal spoons after painting them and it works great.

I've painted many using epoxy enamel (appliance enamel) and had pretty good results. I use red primer and then spray several light coats of enamel over that.

I've tried powder coating them with mixed results. I'm tempted to try a powder paint spray gun, I think it would work better that my fluid bed.

ZACH, look up CADMAN'S TACKLE, on the web. Ted has painted blades baits for me in the past. He does a great job, He painted two kinds of Perch for me, outstanding  colors.  Tell him Bob from Methuen Ma. told you to call. good luck  Bob
