I just put my Garmin 73sv on my boat and was wondering if there is any reason why should keep the other (lowrance 522C igps) there too. If I do keep the two, where would anyone suggest I put the second Transducer?  I have a Lowrance 7hdi up front as well. 

 

 

If you keep it, you should put a shoot through transducer in the bilge area so you can read at high speeds.

If you keep it, mount a transducer plate on the boat,  that way you never have to drill any more holes in the boat to change transducers.

 

Put the Garmin SideVu transducer on the other side of the transom in the same position.

Remove the ducer and just use the lowrance for mapping.

X2. Have lowrance for dedicated mapping and let the new unit run just for imaging and sonar. Lets you keep screen sizes bigger to identify things better. Especially if the 2 lowrances can communicate and share waypoints.

Lowrance and Garmin don't speak the same language.

The Garmin's built in HD maps are very very good. Depending what chip you have for the Lowrance, you might have to do a side by side to see which maps you like better for the lake you are on. Then use one for mapping and the other for sonar. Either way, you will have a lot of options with 2 units. Plus, if one breaks down, you are not running blind.

I was referring to his second Lowrance unit up front.  Not the garmin.
