LC RC CBs very suprising and BPS lure question

Recommended Posts

Well I was very skeptical about dumping money on the Lucky Craft Rick Clunn series after having numerous other crankbaits and everyone knows Lucky Craft is very pricey if you buy them by series and stock them. So I did this, I picked up one Clunn LC 2.5 in Copper Green Shad. I fished it using 20lb test Sufix PBraid. The results suprised me.. I was expecting another bait that would get mild use compared to my DTs.. Rattle N'Vibes.. etc that get used a lot but I soon learned this crankbait is in a class of its own. This one bait has been excellent for me this Fall in catching pressured Bass and it performs excellent on my braid. So after a long talk with the baitmonkey we came to a conclusion.. I need all eight colors (who knows when ill need them and they arent made anymore) produced in the 2.5 series because they flat out work and I dont have as many options for pressured Bass as I do with other situations. I like this bait better then the Manns Baby 1- which until recently was my favorite shallow cbait. Someones been holding out on these because I know theres atleast a few of you who use them and produce with them like I have. The whole reason I think that I was skeptical was because it was made for BPS and LC had no info on these baits in their site like they do other baits. Now after reading all this and you understand what im saying hopefully.. how do BPS branded baits work compared to the rest of the industry? Some of their flat cranks have caught my attention. Cabelas came out with a LVR LIVE series flat cb which im dieing to try as well when the funds allow for it. Do any of you have extensive expierence with any of the baits ive mentioned in my questions? If you can, shed some light on them and the situations in which they have shined for you. Thanks for any info and excuse my enthusiastic attitude which seems to get to some of you for whatever reasons.

I have the whole set of RC Lucky craft baits and have used them since they came out.   Yes they were made for BP by Lucky Craft  to LC standard.  I was looking for a shallow bait on BP site I notice they were available.   Being LC was one of the reason I puchase them plus I was wanting a small bait to use in a high pressure lake.

I love to throw them in about 5 foot of water and let them dig in the bottom.  You will find they cast like a bullet are great around cover and with the square bill they don't hang up easy.   I also like LC Combat series.  The Combat series was made for LC by Evergreen.  I have a set of the 200 on order.

I just like LC baits because they WORK.   Bud

Glad to hear that you like the RC series. I have two of each size and would like to buy a few more. I've caught some really nice fish with them. The 3.5 model is my favorite.

I have a 1.5 in bull bream color which is kind of orange.   I bought that color, because I wanted to diversify my colors from the blues, whites and chartrues'.

Unfortunately I haven't had much luck with it.

I looks great in the water, Great wobble and runs true.

Is their a time of year or particular application where the bull bream (orange) might be best suited?

thanks

avid.

I'm getting ready to purchase about 16 RC's at the $9.99 sale price.  These baits are normally $14.99.  I mainly use the 1.5 and 2.5, and stock the splatterback shad, purple/chartreuse, brown/charteuse, copper green shad,  and bull bream.  Avid- the bull bream works great in the latter part of the spawn when some bass are still on beds and others are guearding fry.  I throw the bull bream and the other chartreuse varieties at this time.

Didnt know evergreen made their combat series.

Gameover

Evergreen did make the combat series for LuckyCraft and they have been discontinued.  You can still find them at a couple of Japan tackle store that are on the web.
