Need Advice!!

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, there is a 7 or 8 acre pond I fish by my house from a boat.  The pond is fairly clear and can see about 7 foot down.  The only thing I know about the structure and cover is what I can see on the bank.  A few trees fallen in the water here and there with mostly a sandy bottom.  The bank drops off almost immediately into pretty deep water of which I don't truly know how deep this place is.  I've only caught smaller fish and know there are big ones but haven't had much luck.

I was hoping to get some advice to help me out.  How would some of you approach this type of water?

One thing you can do is use a carolina rig to feel the bottom and get and idea for depth and drop offs

it will help give you a better understanding of what the lake's bottom is like

then you can attack it from there

Or any kind of sinking lure . I like to use those cheap prerigged swimbaits by Storm and Berkely . If I lose a couple no big deal .
