Cheap place to get lures

Recommended Posts

Where is a great place to get cheap lures other then Walmart? In my hometown Walmart has a small variety for lures.

I peruse all these websites at least weekly, many of them daily, not to mention Gander Mountain, Bass Pro, Cabela's, and TW.  The combination of this, coffee, and morning oatmeal keeps me very regular...

Cheap and quality...Acadamy, hands down. Wait till they have the $3 sales on all h2o baits.  I'm gonna start using their baits for repaints and $3 is a heck of a deal.

For me, the auction site winds up being a lot of work.  It can be fun to hunt down deals, but it can also be a real time sink.  And, a lot of sellers overprice their products.  After losing too much time looking to get deals, I avoid the auctions and  just watch and shop the sales as lecisnith said.

I live in a tackle desert without a lot of local options, but we do have a DSG and I pop in frequently to see what the latest deals are - not all are shown in the weekly flyer.

Meant to add to the list:

Vimage outdoors - they have some great prices on hardbaits.  They've been good to order from.

Amazon - they sometimes have crazy good deals.  But very unpredictable when they will pop up.

The flea market on here is usually a great place to find some good deals.

Welcome to the club. It happens to every experienced angler that he eventually outgrows Walmart's limited selection.

Amazon Prime. We started using it because we got tired of running the roads for Christmas shopping because we live in a small town 45 minutes from any good shopping (I hate shopping). But the shipping is free on Prime items. And they have most, not all, common baits and tackle. I've bought almost all my tackle that way lately.I supplement with Wally World, Academy and Cabela's. They're all within an hour drive.

shop.anglersheadquarters.com

This is a small couple run shop in SC. The people are terrific to work with and if an item you want isn't listed, send them an email and 9 times out of 10 they'll get it for you. And give you a discount for suggesting it. They also have a "Prime" deal where you pay $30 for a year's worth of free shipping. I've switched pretty much all my tackle buying to this place.

I've found all of my cheapest stuff from sellers here or on other forums.  I also got a TON of stuff from Sports Authority/Sports Chalet when they were clearing out their fishing departments at 50-75% off.  Other than that look for online sales where if you're patient, you should be able to find 20-25% off sales.  Another method is to buy Cabela's gift cards from gift card re-sale sites, and check Cabela's Fishing section in their Bargain Cave.  They usually have hundreds of items up in their hardbaits/soft plastics/jigs/line sections.  Unless you're a stickler for a specific brand/color, you can find some amazing deals in there to stock up.  So for example right now they have a bunch of LuckyCraft hardbaits marked down to $5.99 - buy some gift cards online and get another 10% off.  The other  week they had all of their Strike King KVD Squarebills and XD cranks listed at discount and I stocked up on those with the gift card discount stack.
