Slugs as Bait?

Featured Replies

Anybody ever used them before? My garden is still full of them after successive beer cans being placed out. Even though I hate all those slimy creatures for eating the leaves off many of my plants, I just don't want to waste a potential fish magnet lol.

Never heard of anyone trying to poke a hook through that tough-skinned, plant eating terrestrial mollusk.

The film of mucus it secretes for protection is particularly vulgar no matter how much beer it drinks.

Try it. Put 2-3 on a hook, (depending on size) and put a bobber like 18 inches up.

I used big dog ticks when I was little to catch sunfish and creek chubs. There's not much a sunfish won't eat.

Catfish would definitely eat them...They eat anything..
