I doubt an off the shelf bike would last more than a few minutes... "here's a roadking from Walmart that I bent the wheels on just on the ride over"

I have had some moderate fun re-living my childhood with my son.  I picked up an old haro group 1 rsi and him a haro junior and we ride around the neighborhood.  Had a great idea to try out nesbit park near my house and i otb'ed twice on the first trip and realized that i am no where near 17 or even 20 any more.  I had considered picking up a mtb but i will stick to blowing my money on fishing and nights out with the wife!!!!  I also enjoy watching the red bull rampage but i am wise enough to know that i would not survive that...

i started with bmx (Hutch, GT Mach 1, GT Pro Performer). i prefer the dirt to the pavement now days. 

 

i love this thing. a bigger smile comes to my face when riding this thing than when fishing my favorite combo. wouldnt give up fishing for it though.

Are you a true 26er, a 27.5er, or a 29er? Having a

hard time as I can't zoom in close enough  

its an older frame, a 26. dont like the 29" much unless i was doing strictly XC. I think id go with a 27.5 full suspension if i bought a new bike for the best of both worlds (or is it the worst?). hardtails are just so much fun.

 

i started mtbing with sub 22 lb bikes with aluminum frames and finally realized that steel, a dropper seat post and 140mm of travel is so much more enjoyable!

I added a Suntour suspension seatpost to my

Specialized this year. Haven't had the chance

to put her to the test yet. A 26er. I'm a bit 

heavier than when I did the neck-breaking stuff

in my 20s on a full rigid aluminum Trek, which

I still happen to have!!

 

Would probably do 27.5 full sussy if I had the

money, as well. My 3rd son, who races XC, rides

an SL1 29er Cannondale hardtail. He's pretty 

good  does his ol' man proud!!

I was a late 70's Kuwahara guy.  Man I wish I still had that bike. 

  Rode BMX for many years. Bikes TNT,ELF,SM,Hawk and standard.  Just ride my Kona shred that I have changed around for more street and indoor MTB park and my old standard cruiser [24] BMX . rode at Rays indoor MTB park in Cleveland  Ohio a couple of weeks back.  Still love jumps and rollers after all these years.  Not in the caliber of the riders in the video,s  but I can still ride the expert section at Rays.
