I caught my PB yellow perch on saturday, I was fishing in the river with a jig and I caught something that felt way bigger than all the dink trout i was catching. It was a big spawning female yellow perch, my first ever perch from that river, I didn't even know it had any. It was 11 inches long and so fat I couldn't fit my hand around it. I will post a pic later. I released it so It could spawn

When I was an intern working launches on Mille Lacs in 2004, I saw someone catch a 16 inch yellow perch one time.  It was mixed right in with the 17 inch walleyes people were catching.

I'm not as nice a guy as you. Perch are delicious. If it wasn't big enough to go on the wall, it would go into the frying pan

I would have kept it if there were more perch in that river.That was my first one and I've fished there a long time. Perch is very good though.

that 16 perch would have been more of a trophy than a 17 inch walleye

My biggest is about 15", there are a couple lakes in Colorado that produce good numbers of 10" to 14" perch.
