Jon boat painting info

Featured Replies

Just purchased a 1448 duracraft. Boat is in good shape, no leaks or dents. Still has factory paint which is in good shape. I've been searching the forum and have gathered a lot of good information and ideas. The one thing I can't find is the answer to my question. Since the paint on the boat is in good shape, do I need to completely strip the old paint before repainting or can I just clean the exterior, rough it up and put on some good quality paint?

Thanks

when i painted my jon boat, i power washed it, scuffed it up good, primed and painted.  it's holding up good so far.
