I am fishing an event Sunday on a lake filled with flooded timber. If you had to pick one to fish around stumps and trees would you use a spinnerbait or Chatterbait. I also plan on using buzzbaits, jerkbaits and crankbaits.

A spinnerbait would get hung up less around wood than a chatterbait. Flooded wood also calls out a "jig" for me.

Wood/timber baits for me: spinnerbait, squarebill, arky jig, pegged T-rig plastics.

I have a jig, Jerk, squarebill, tied on wasn't sure if I should go spinnerbait or chatterbait route for my other setup. I also am going to look for a morning topwater bite with a buzzbait.

Spinnerbait excels around wood for me. 

I generally use spinnerbaits when they are feeding aggresively on baitfish in water where they will easily see the flash it's putting off. Chatterbaits are more of a chuck and wind tool for me, generally in water that is a little muddier.

You didn't mention this, but maybe you already have it covered.  If the lake is filled with acres of timber and you aren't familiar with its bottom contours, my first concern would be to find the timber that holds fish.  You can spend all day fishing timber that is not associated to forage and suitable bass structure and essentially strike out.

Other than replacing the arky jig with a Siebert brush jig and craw, my choices would be the same.

 

I prefer a brush jig in most other situations, but the arky defects off the branches in a unique way, that trigger strikes.

I suspected as much.  Lots of branches could definitely favor the arky.

Chatterbaits are my go to bait, if i am searching for fish on weedy lakes. I don't usually use them around wood. 

When the blade hits wood, the hook usually rolls into the wood and snags.
