I have spent a little time in Nebraska.. Sutton, Grand Island, Hastings area.  Farm land and corn.  Fished there a couple times.  I enjoyed it.  Flat and windy... Or just HOT.  Never been there in the colder months.

we are in the middle of a winter storm warning right now they have closed the interstate at Grand Island.

Anyone else have a problem with the removable seat pedestal coming unscrewed all the time?  Never had a boat so not sure if this is common.  It comes lose and becomes noisy...I am constantly screwing it back in

It is very noisy and comes unscrewed, but never anything dangerous.  I upgraded my bow seat to a power mount and butt seat.  I love it and it is very quiet.

Jaime, are you talking about the long black tube under the panels on the starboard side of the boat that is about 1/16" in diameter?

Mine seemed to be open on at least one end and I have no idea what it would be for. It seemed too small to be a pitot tube feed to a speedometer if the boat was equipped with one.

I've got all my depth finders mounted, a Hook 7 on the console and a Hook 4 on the trolling motor. All of the cables are routed and the panels are all back together and secure. It didn't take too long at all. I plan on using the Hook 3 on my kayak. All I need now is for the wind to die down, and I'll be headed to the lake.

Yes that tube... It is open on both sides.  Sounds like you have a great setup.  I was going to put my hook 3 on the kayak z but my wife wanted one she you.see on the stern, so I put it there.  I am thinking of putting a new hook unit back there for her and then putting this one on one of our kayaks.  We already have a couple fish finders for the kayaks, but they see black and white.

I've had problems with the pedestals unscrewing.  As you swivel you unscrew them.  You really have to crank them down to stay tight.  I have a strap wrench I'm going to try next time out.  I've never had much luck with a strap, so either it will work or I'll break the wrench :naka:.  I do have a plan B if the strap thing doesn't work.

I've had some creaking from the seats as I swivel, which was very irritating.  Just a small amount of lithium grease at the top of the pedestal will take care of the noise :shhhhh:.

That's the electric plug holder. You plug the plug into it when you are done charging.

Nice feature, mine pro mariner did not come with that.  Called Tracker, I have a long wait ahead.  May not be in the water till next spring. :(

Seriously thinking of getting this boat with 9.9 because so many lakes around here are restricted.  Wondering how the boat will move.  I am not looking to speed around the small lakes, just get around and fish. Is this a mistake I would regret?  If I did go with 9.9 what version makes sense, standard, pro kicker, or command thrust?  Any thoughts are appreciated.

I think you'll be fine with a 9.9. The boat is pretty light.

So a few pages back I posted my fix for storing the stern light.  The foam was awfully white under the console.  I don't have any brown but I do have some orange paint on hand. Heritage orange.

That's pretty much it and modification for awhile.  I might get some transom straps, but it's not a priority.  I'll run it as is this summer and see what I want to change, maybe a bimini.  I'll be glad when more people get their boats and see what they do to them.

I guess I don't feel too bad for some of my short carpet cuts.  The mod looks good and I like orange.  I am using this space for the light, boat push/hook pole, and fish ruler.

Ha, you mention a boat hook.   The last time I went out a guy was launching the same time as me.   There was a dock between  us. I had tied up and was going to park and I heard a bit of a struggle.   The guy next to me didn't tie up very well and his boat got away from him.   He ran back to his truck and quickly grabbed a boat hook,  but by the time he got to the end of the dock the boat floated to far out.   I went back and untied and idled over to his boat and towed it back in. He thanked me.  I was glad the new guy with the new boat was able to help one of the "old" guys :cool7:

As I was pulling out there was another rig waiting in front of me to get out of the way.  I didn't notice him until I was pulling out,  so i don't know how long he waited.  I know there is the dock etiquette thing,  but i didn't think it right to park first while this guys boat floats away :ship-022:.

Nice!  Always good to just help out people.  I just don't get how we sportsmen act so un-sportsman when it comes to fishing.  I know I am serious about fishing and don't like people getting in my way, but helping others makes things so much better.

Etiquette is what and how we should perform... But we need to extend curtesy as well.

Hey Fellas, got a call from my tracker dealer(bass pro) this morning, said there was a boat that fell thru from an order before mine and it was mine if I wanted it.  well...i told him yes, but it has a trailer brake option I didn't want.  anyway, I said I'd pay it instead of waiting.  so I hung up and then thought about it even more...and decided I'm going to need a 4 person boat to keep it legal.  Canceled that and my old order and decided I better go with the Pro 175 txw.  Anyway, money wasn't the option, I just wanted the heritage because I like what it stands for, but alas, I had to make the decision on the 4 person.  I can pick it up anytime.  I got the red one  (would prefer no paint to tell you the truth, and also got the vinyl floor.  that's it, plain jane otherwise.

I gotta figure out what I want to do with my min kota 2 bank charger and spare tire I've already bought in advance.  anyone traveling west of desmoines on i-80, stop by I'll make you a good deal.

all of you have been helpful, I appreciate your enthusiasm and knowledge and for taking the time to share everything you have with all of us.  I'll check in from time to time.

Hope to see you out on the water!

jim

You made the right choice.  Congrats on the new boat.  I have had a couple people with me and it was crowded, but worked.  You will love the extra space.  I was going to upgrade to another boat, but my wife insisted we get this one.  We both loved the styling and all.  I know, I wish tracker gave an option to not have other boats painted.

I wish I was heading your way... I still have not purchased a tired yet.

Please do check in and take care.

Do you happen to have the parts number for the carpet?  I would like to order some but want to help my BPS guys as I am sure they will be a little confused.  LOL.

Sorry i've been busy working on mine. I do not have the part number but you need to talk to the parts guy for Tracker in BPS boat center. He looked it up on his parts list and had it in no time flat. Now they informed me it would be a week or two to get it in. Saying that i ordered mine on March 23rd I called Tracker on April 9th and was informed it is usually a 4 to 6 week delivery on items from Tracker. So i ordered the Walnut from Cabelas to see if it matches I will let you know should be in by this weekend.

Has anyone heard of Tracker Boats losing a customer's boat? I had ordered the Heritage boat on 2/16 and was given an estimated delivery date of June. I started to read posts of others who received their boat before the estimated delivery date. So about 4 weeks ago I called Tracker Boats to check on the status. The person said the boat had been shipped on March 10 with a typical ship time of 2-3 weeks. Thought this could be in error so I called a week later and was given the same info. Still no boat as of April 10th, so I called Tracker Boats again and the only info they had was the March 10th ship date, no info on if it made it to the dealer. I then turned around and called the dealer (BPS). I gave the salesman the ship date and other info, said I'll have to look into it. 5 hours later I get a call saying BPS hasn't received the boat (at this point it's been  4-1/2 weeks since the ship date) , maybe it will be on the next truck. So now it's been another week and still no boat. If I don't hear anything by this evening I'll send an email to the Manager asking exactly where is my boat. At this point Tracker has in their records the boat was shipped, so there won't be another one coming. And now the question is what happened to it once it was placed on the truck?

This is what I was told from my local BPS. Hopefully it helps.

So the part number for the carpet is 314449 and it cost 16.40 per square yard. They come in 96inch sections from what my parts guys were telling me so we are able to get it. It is just a special order is all.

Update: Called dealer again today. Dealer called back later to say there is some mixup and the next Heritage to arrive will be mine. So maybe in the next week or so I should have it. I guess the squeaky wheel does get the oil.

Wow,  that's a little pricey!   Will you have to purchase the whole 96"?

Sounds like your boat went to someone else.   Yes, sometimes it pays to be a squeaky wheel.  I believe that since my wife and I contacted the dealer and then made a trip there to meet them and checkout the service dept, they took care of us.  We had the boat the very next week.  They were always clear on the dates and other information.  This was a local deal rather than BPS.

Good luck!

My son and I picked up our Bass Tracker Heritage last Thursday at the Bass Pro Shops in Cary North Carolina.  We love it!    I am new to the world of boating and I’m hoping to learn a lot in this forum. My son is 10 years old and fishing is his hobby. It also is a great tool for me to keep them away from technology. Would anybody offer any recommendations of things that I would definitely need to purchase for the boat.    We have all the basic necessities that we need and we did take it out on the water twice last weekend. And hope to go out a lot this weekend.  Love our Heritage!!!

The boat comes pretty complete.  You have been out twice so you have PFD's.  You and the boy could take a boating course.  You will both learn a lot from that (I did).  Spare tire, extra boat plug, extra kill switch cord, maybe some basic tools in a small box.  Lunch.  Food/water is always a good thing.  That's all I can think of as necessities.

Yep, just have extra of the things that could be misplaced.  Having tools is always a good thing.

Maybe have a checklist.  Whenever someone is rushing you, talking to you, or there is an issue, your focus can be goofy(slowed) or just broken.  I must confess two mistakes.

#1

Last time I took the boat out, I took my wife and her friend out.  My wife said she wanted to learn how to do all of the steps and help.  She would not pay any attention or help.  That frustrated me.  To make matters worse, the hitch ball lock would not open up...  After finally getting the trailer on the hitch, I just jumped in a drove away.  When I got 9 miles from the lake, I stopped a gas/bait shop.  Got out and saw that I left the trailer jack down.  OOPS!  Thankfully it did not drag or was damaged.

#2

I take my puppy out with me... But she can be a pain in the vehicle.  After getting my boat ready and putting the gear in it... I jumped in and backed it down the ramp... Looked back and did not see it float up.  I put the FJ in drive and pulled it out.  Forgot to put the plug in and unstrap it from the trailer.  OOPS!

So, have a checklist before you leave and before you launch.  So many things can cloud your mind and while you know do to something, you just don't for what ever reason.

I think I will go fishing today :)  Talking about it has me ready to go.  I will leave the office early and hook & book!

Tight lines--
