Tungsten jigs

Featured Replies

I have a lot of jigs and fishing a jig is my favorite way to catch a bass. I just ordered my first 1/2 tungsten football jigs (Evolution jigs). I was shocked at how much smaller the head it compared to lead. Of course, the downside is that tungsten is more expensive. I would love to hear from someone who has actually fished tungsten jigs to get real world feedback on whether or not it is worth the investment.

I would think the smaller tungsten head really helps if your flipping cover because it won’t hang as much and it will punch through grass better. If your flipping wood though a lot if times deflecting it off the wood is what gets you bit so there are pros and cons

I have recently on the past 2 years switched from lead weights to tungsten. And boy what a difference. I don't have any tungsten jigs yet but plan to soon.

Tungsten jigs are way more sensitive and more compact. You get hung up less on tungsten. Great for punching.. When you try tungsten you'll never want led.

I have more jigs that I can count, but have never tried tungsten jigs, but now I'm intrigued.

I've been looking around online, but can't find any that stand up like this.

I was looking through Sieberts Tungsten Pitchn Jigs. I'm curious what size & brand hooks are used on this jig and I would like to see a picture unskirted to look at the keeper etc.
