tcbass 457 Report post Posted July 5, 2018 I’ve found the O rings work better than nothing but tubing works best.
Swbass15 351 Report post Posted July 6, 2018 I don’t know the size of the o ring but similar to what @tcbass states above, I have use the heat shrink for electrical wiring.
moguy1973 442 Report post Posted July 6, 2018 I found that shrink tubing works great if you want the fish to just take your worm. I don't know how many times I had a fish swipe the worm and all I got back was a bare hook with the shrink tubing on it. I found that the Goody hair bands work the best. Double them over so they make an X and then your hook remains perpendicular to the worm for better hookups. Can get a package of about 100 at Walmart for a couple bucks in the girls hair section. 2

I use the heat shrink wrap and you are right, sometimes the bass will take the worm and leave you with the band and hook. Happened to me yesterday. I will give the Goody hair bands a try. May be easier to use and have better results than the shrink wrap. But I must write that the shrink wrap has served me well all these years. Caught many bass on one Senko before it was stolen or fell apart. Great post. Thanks for the info.
Swbass15 351 Report post Posted July 7, 2018 I guess I was hooking differently, I went through both the tubing and heat shrink. I guess maybe I wasn’t following the conventional rigging idea. Never had a worm stolen. I will look into the hair ties as well sounds much easier and cheaper than rigging with the heat shrink.
moguy1973 442 Report post Posted July 7, 2018 These are like the ones I bought. I think the pack I got from Walmart was a multi size pack and I only took the medium sized ones for fishing. The rest went for my daughter's hair. https://www.pharmapacks.com/products.php?product=Goody-Classics-Rubberband%2C-Black-250-ea&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIwrr_lqmN3AIVxLXACh0_YwAeEAQYBSABEgITL_D_BwE
