You catch your first fish on your latest build.

Although it wasn't my latest, it was the first I'd caught on the only acid wrap I've ever attempted. A 4lb.+ beauty which was also the first fish I caught on a hair jig that I'd tied. I don't know what I was more excited about; the fish, or that rod loosing its cherry to her.

Just had that myself last month. Got to break in my new all Fuji build. Point Blank, Fuji PTS reel seat, Alconite guides and Fuji thread. Very nice.

Awesome job- nothing like the feeling you get when you know the factory cant build em' like you can! 

 

On the opposite end of the spectrum- just wait until you experience the feeling of breaking one that you made!!  ?  

The feeling of breaking in a new build is awesome!  Good for you, breaking in a spiral wrap with a fish large enough to appreciate it a bit, and on a hand tie to boot!
