Your equipment looks good.

Only If there are holes in submerged mated hydrilla a frog will work good.

If fishing the holes start at a far corner and walk it in place or use a poping style as you bring it to the other side.

Looks good.

I'd take that Booyah and turn it into a Teckel frog by adding a paddle tail. I think you'll like the results. Make sure to retrieve it along the edge of the mats too, a lot of frogs will rush out to hit it from underneath the pads.

You're good to go.  All the right gear.  Now you just learn your timing and get deadly accurate with your casting.  Take the wind into account when you're really launching one across a mat.

I have a Teckel, thanks for the pointers. I fish a league and the night the frog bite was on point. Got a decent kicker fish at the end.

Color suggestions?

Doesn't really matter that much. White or black, maybe a yellow. This is belly color. Fish can't see all those pretty designs on top.

Maybe add a hollow body mouse or two (savage gear makes some nice mice) but the gear you have looks proper for froggin !

Interesting, something to consider for sure. Thank you.

I like brown but I've noticed that that I'll fish a brown and my friend will fish a white and we both get bites. I think if fish are biting a particular bait most days color doesn't matter.

I haven't had good luck with the Teckel or Booyah Toad Runner, but caught a ton on the homemade one made with the Booyah Pad Crashers. Also, far higher hookup ratio on the homemades.

The Teckel or Toadrunner isn't going to work fishing mats if they reach the surface, best to just stick to a regular frog then. If the mats are thick, especially if there's lots of moss, I like a regular frog. If there's lots of holes, I prefer a popping frog because they're easier to work in a small hole and call fish out with little pops but they walk side to side so they don't move far. Black, white, and brown are the only 3 colors I really feel you need. I've had my best luck with Booyah Padcrashers and Popping Padcrashers.

Brown is the one color I don’t have lol! Thanks! The last frog bite I was one my colors were standard green w/ white belly and mossy brown top w/ chartreuse belly. Thanks.
