McCarthy got canned. Should have happened years ago.

I feel like someone else will hire him before next season as an assistant coach in some capacity.  His head coaching days are over though.  Whoever gets that job will have a tough one though.  Aaron Rodgers basically dictates how the team is run, not the coach.

Probably. Unless Urban Meyer decides to play with the grown ups.

he'll be a head coach by next season. No question.

Who would have thought Miami would have beat the Pats? That was a shocker.

I’m a Pats fan and have to say that was an awesome play.... they deserve the win with that one!

As far as a Superbowl winner, we’ll find out in January.

I'm a die-hard and was skeptical of amari. If I ran into him I'd have to apologise. He makes us look like a contender. HOW BOUT DEM COWBOYS!!!!!

Cowboys aren't a contender.  You needed career games from basically everyone on offense to beat a depleted secondary (practice squad guys starting) on the Eagles by a fluke play in OT.

Dallas defense is legit and fast but Dak is a limiting factor.  Don't let those stats today fool you on that one...

Dak will always be THE limiting factor. But that doesn't mean we can't be a contender in spite of that. Defense and a solid running game travel anywhere you go. And regardless of who was in the field for the eagles we won. The same way we beat the saints and everyone else placed before us for the past month plus

Same, I really liked the player but in no way did I think he was worth a 1st or that he would make a significant difference this year. I was wrong, especially now that the 1st will be in the second half of the round. Also, I love salty Eagles fans as their playoff hopes go down the drain. 😂

Great win for Da Bears last night (despite Trubisky repeatedly throwing to the wrong color jersey. Ugh.....).

Now if we can just get over our mental block and actually beat the Packers next Sunday.

BEAR DOWN!!!!!!!!

It seems like the NFL is broken into 3 types of teams:

A - Teams with high scoring offenses and average defenses;

B - Teams with solid defenses and average offenses;

C - Teams that aren't going to make the playoffs.

The A's can beat the B's and the B's can beat the A's.  However the A's tend to dominate the C's and end up with better win/loss records than the B's, who often struggle with the C's.  Why?  My hunch is effort.

So much defense is about continued effort for the entire game.  It is easy to understand how the Bears focus was much higher last night against the Rams than it was a week prior against the Giants.  The B's don't have much room for error and lapses on defense can cost them against an inferior opponent.  Against those same non playoff teams, the A's can have a bad quarter or two, but still pile up enough points to typically put the game out of reach.

I am a Rams fan, but know that anytime a defense like the Bears or Cowboys plays focused for an entire game, we can be beat.

The Chiefs are still hanging in there.  In spite of the Kareem hunt debacle they are still looking better than I ever imagined they would for 2018.

Thursday night with the chargers will be interesting.

Mahomes has really impressed me this year. He makes the games exciting to watch.

For at least the last 10 years, I don't think it has mattered which running back has been behind the Chiefs O-line.

Honestly, I hope on Thursday that we don't play anyone who needs to rest or to recover from minor injuries. We don't need anyone going out for the playoffs. We've got to be in it for the long haul this year.

Some inside intel has me pretty sure that Mebane is going to be back this week for the Chargers which doesn't help our cause.

Those are fair. Top 3 are pretty much above the rest. The rest are about as competitive and equal as 7 teams have been in a long time.

Yes, the Chiefs are hanging in there. Seems like they like to get down to a nail-biter finish here lately. They need to stay on their A game. It only gets tougher from here

Hate to say it but the Bears aren't a Superbowl team...yet. I wonder why our D played so poorly against the Giants and played so well against the Rams. This Sunday will be tough because Rodgers and his offense will come at us with a vengeance. We need one more win to solidify a playoff seat. If it doesn't come against the Pack, it will surely be the Vikings.

SEA-HAWKS, SEA-HAWKS, SEA-HAWKS, lol.

No way Seattle is down that low on that list, no way, Jose.

Even though they’re a new, young team, they exceeded my expectations (Them making the playoffs was but wishful thinking) and some of their losses this season were almost wins.

If anything, they have this advantage... They are dark horses this season and the hawks’ name is hardly if ever whispered among the experts and pundits.

They have a solid shot for a playoff spot and I’m glad they aren’t getting hyped by the sports media.

And with this young a team, just having a shot is all I could ask of them.

Having a good defense playing well in the NFL come playoff time is like a NHL team riding a hot goalie or a MLB team having a couple of ace starters, it can pull an otherwise average team over the finish line.  The most recent example was the Giants Super Bowl win over the Patriots when the Pats came into the game undefeated.  I don't think it is unfathomable for the Bears (or Cowboys) to have a similar type run this year.

I know it may sound funny, but as a Rams fan, I have more concerns playing against the Bears & Cowboys (& kinda the Seahawks) than I do the Saints.  The Rams have shown they can win in an offensive shootout and the Saints have shown they couldn't hold a 21 point lead against them at home, but the Rams have yet to show they can beat a really good defensive team in a cold weather environment.  Even with home field advantage, if they get a rare So Cal rainy day with a sloppy field & temps in the high 40's against the Bears or Cowboys, the Rams will have to do something they haven't yet shown they can do.
