Yo-Zuri 100%Fluoro Top Knot Main Line

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if anyone has used this line. What can I expect from it. As in, strength, stretch, manageability, sensetivity(bite detection and feeling the bottom), and anything that may be concerning. I am looking at this line because of the good reviews of Yo-Zuri's other line models. Any help and opinions on this line specifically is extremely appreciated.

I tried it a few years ago and did not care for it.  I thought it was not bad for the price but it did not last long (maybe 3 trips out before I noticed it changing) or perform as well as many others out there.  It did have a ton of memory and the 12lb I used got kinked easily.   I think it would be impossible to use on spinning gear.  I like their regular Hybrid line better.

The closest thing I could compare it to would be Seaguar Red Label.   It would be just a step below that in quality though.

Also, welcome to the forum.....

I tried one also 12lb of those top knot, I found that the line is pretty stiff make difficult to clinch my knot (trilene knot) down. Also a little harder to control when bomb cast. The good thing is line is pretty strong and good abrasion resistance. I think I also had one time that line broke off in spool when cast. I’m not buying it again, actually I don’t think I’m gonna try any more fluorocarbon line period. All I need is copolymer line hybrid/Izorline and big game mono.

(Either of you two treat with KVD L&L, or is this straight out of papackage. I get That it's not the highest end Fluorocarbon. I am just trying to find a good starter fluoro. Ive used vanish it wasnt tearable was able to feel my football jig being drug acrosssed clean rock and able to make hard hooksets. Line memory wasnt all that great but it worked for bottom dragging a 3/8 FBH. This was 4yrs ago when I first started club tournaments. And I get that the price isnt in the FC Sniper or Invisx range so I really dont want those as a comparison. Ive hear good things and bad things on RL its always back and fourth.

Well, I have been a big fan of Yo-Zuri Hybrid for years and still am. However, a true fluorocarbon is

a different story. #1 is Seaguar Tatsu.   Less expensive alternatives would be Seaguar InvizX for

spinning tackle and AbrazX for baitcasting gear.

I have tried KVD line conditioner and it helps some but with this line it doesn't absorb water that much which KVD line conditioner is mostly made out of.   It would coat the line but after a few casts, it would just come off.

On other lines, KVD works great but on super hard lines like this one, it's just didn't do its trick.  I have since stopped using KVD line conditioner because of this reason.  It's not because I don't like it,  I just don't think I need it for the lines I use.  I may change my mind in the future because it works great on Hybrid.
