Yo-zuri hybrid for all around line.

Recommended Posts

I have heard good things about this line and am looking at something cheaper than sunline sniper fc. This line will be strung across different rods and reels in different weights for different things (topwater, crankbaits, ned rigs, dropshotting, swimbaits, jerkbaits etc)  for those who have used this line, what do you think and is it a good all around line for the above mentioned things.

I've got 4# Yo-Zuri on my President 25 UL rig - line came with the reel which was gifted to me. Very limp, very castable. If I hadn't already purchased line for my other rigs, I'd be very tempted to buy it for the Avocet and Trion rigs as well.

I use it more than any other line. It's a great all around line. Just make sure to keep in mind that the diameter and strength of the line is not what it says on the spool. The 12lb has the diameter of about your standard 14-15lb line and it breaks at around 19lbs. The 10lb is around 12lb diameter and breaks at around 16lbs. So use 12lb where you would use 15-17+lb line and 10lb where you would use 12-14lb line. General rule of thumb for me is M Power gets 10lb, MH Power gets 12lb. For casting.

For spinning 6lb breaks at around 11lbs and has the diameter of about 8lb line. It goes on my M Power rods. 4lb has the diameter of about 6lb line and breaks at around 8lbs. It goes on my ML Power rods.

I'm really tired and that's probably gibberish up there lol so just in case......

Casting:

Medium = 10lb

Medium Heavy = 12lb

Heavy = 15lb

Spinning:

Medium = 6lb

Medium Light = 4lb

Make sure to get KVD Line and Lure Conditioner. It makes it much better.

I'm a " all spinning rods fishing " guy. Been using 6# Yo Zuri hybrid ultra soft on all my setups for many years now. This line has never disappointed me.

Well, I still use #4 on a specific dedicated smallmout rig, but otherwise I am Tatsue #6 on

spinning tackle, #12, #15 or a combination of Smackdown and fluoro leader for baitcasting.

I use it on my baitcaster and plan to switch my spinning setup over to it as well.

Agree with others here. I'm using 15lb on my craking baitcaster (st. croix legend glass rod) and I found it to work well. Enough stretch but decent sensitivity (enough for crankbait anyway) and tough enough to break off tree branches I inevitably wrap around on a long cast. I also used 6lb on my spinners, but later pulled it off. I got to many nests and clumps. I'm thinking it might be a bad spool that either got hot or sat around to long. I could not get the memory out of it no matter how much straightening or conditioning I performed. My 15 didn't do this.

As others have said, line conditioner is a must when using this line.

Ive used this line on all my bait casters for a few years.  It's tough as nails.

It takes me a while to get through the 600yard spools and i notice. a lot more memory in the line now.

When and how are you guys conditioning the line?  I would use the l&l when spooling up, how often are you guys using it?
