Looking for a new casting rod

Featured Replies

I'm currently looking at a new casting rod. I purchased an E6X because its a G.Loomis and I have had my eye on it for a while. Well I'm less than please with the performance over my Tatula XT rod. Looking to stay in the under $200 range. What would you guys recommend? The rod will be used for jigging and t-rigs. Currently run the 843c and the Tatula XT is 7'3" MH. The Tatula seems to load better  and cast further than the E6X. The tatula also feels just as sensitive as the E6X if not more. Let me know what you guys think and I will try to answer any questions you might have.

I wasnt a fan of the e6x rods either. Lots of way better feeling rods at or way below their price. I'm really impressed with the new shimano slx rods and reels. The tatula rods are sweet as well. The dobyns fury is a rod that I feel performs way above its price and can be had for less than 90 bucks right now

You can find very good used condition Megabass Orochi XX rods for $200 or less. Also the reviews of the new generation Megabass Levantes are good, MSRP $199.

Tatula Elite is $179 with 15% off at Tacklewarehouse. The 7'3 MH/F is a good light cover jig rod. I have the 7' M/MH AGS Tatula Elite and it is an amazing all around rod.
