Haibo mag dial query

Featured Replies

Hey, on my Smart 150, the mag dial isn't labeled Min or Max so I'm curious, is forward Min or Max?

I would assume clockwise turns them up, but you should see the magnet ring go up or down, with the palm side plate off.  What every action raises the magnet ring is turning up the brakes.

Well, it's one louder, right?

I believe counter clockwise turns up the mag brake.  To be sure remove the side plate and look at the magnets when the dial is turned.

Also feel free to PM me for Aliexpress links to centrifugal brake shoes and brake ring for this reel.  As a Smart 50 owner, trust me you're going to need spares.  They do fall out.

Thank you! The 150 is great, so far, for medium light applications, nothing truly out there. With the deeper spool, I toss 10lb CX Premium and run baits like the Pop X, G Splash 65, Dog X QW or SS, 1/8oz Crazy Flappers, etc. This reel is pretty dang cool.

They are very good performing finesse reels for the money.  At one point they were unbeatable but with the Ray's Studio spools for the Tatula/Fuego you can now get as good or better performance for around the same price and not have to deal with the centrifugal brake issue.

Which Ray's spool is that?
